Kick the Habit - Now!

You have tried patches, gums, willpower, maybe other methods too, so why is hypnosis any different? Read the information below and see just why hypnosis is considered to be an effective method for smoking cessation.

Some facts and figures

It is estimated that smoking causes one in five deaths in the UK. Cigarettes contain many poisonous substances which are drawn into the lungs and bloodstream. There are about 4000 chemicals released from burning the processed tobacco, including cyanide, carbon monoxide, cadmium and many other lethal substances.

Some facts about smoking...

> Smoking causes your skin to age prematurely, increases lines and wrinkles on the face

> Smoking is very harmful to you, your children, and other non-smokers

> It can dramatically shorten your life span

> It affects your fertility (male and female)

> Smoking kills around 114,000 people in UK each year (1)

> Smoking kills around half of all smokers (1)

> It can seriously damage your unborn child.

Why hypnosis?

Many studies have been carried out worldwide, but one of the largest studies was undertaken by the University of Iowa in 2003. Using meta analysis from 600 studies involving 72000 people they concluded that "hypnosis was the most effective method for smoking cessation". (2)

Most people when asked what they consider is the biggest obstacle to stopping smoking would reply the addiction to Nicotine. This is no surprise as there is a multi-million pound industry bombarding the public daily with the advice that they need Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) to quit. Many hypnotherapists agree that the nicotine is a drug that your body misses for a few days after quitting (around 5 days and the drug is gone from your body) but the biggest reason that thwarts the would-be quitter is...

"The psychological addiction"

Hypnotherapy is particularly effective in helping with the psychological addiction that in many cases is the root cause of failure in the would-be quitter.

Nicotine disappears in a few days. After that the main cause of failure is the self learned habits that may be firmly implanted in the sub-conscious, what can be referred to as the psychological addiction.

Take a moment to examine the regular times that you reach for that cigarette, usually unconsciously. You may find that difficult if you have been smoking for some time, since you no longer have to consciously think about most of the cigarettes you light up!

Here are a few common ones...

> The cigarette after a meal.

> The cigarette before breakfast.

> The cigarette when you order a drink at the bar.

> Just before you drive off in the car.

> The cigarette that seems to calm you after a stressful moment.

> Waiting on the bus or train.

> After an argument.

There are many, many more of course, but all have one thing in common, what some hypnotherapists call a "light up trigger". Just like a button being pressed your subconscious runs a routine that has been repeated many times, urging you to complete the action. There is no contest between the conscious and unconscious mind. In a situation like this the unconscious wins every time!

A Natural Non SmokerHypnotherapy re-educates the sub-conscious to ignore those "light-up triggers" as if they never existed. In just two specially designed sessions to suit your individual needs many people say goodbye to that old habit forever.

There are many more clients who know just how pleasing it is to be able to enjoy the fresh air once more, and to have the knowledge that they beat the "habit" that held them captive for so long.

Two Session Stop Smoking Programme

The smoking cessation programme used by Artt Therapy comprises two sessions lasting around one hour per session, and is without doubt a highly effective means to stop the habit.

Why two sessions?

Many therapists use a single long session, however experience has shown that most clients respond well to the initial session and the second "Power Session" 3-7 days later. Many stop after the first session however both sessions address different aspects of smoking building a powerful new belief system that provides the best means to beat the habit.

1st Session

last_cigaretteDuring the first session you will get to discuss hypnosis, followed by questions and answers on stopping smoking, and address the beliefs, attitudes, and habits of the smoker. This is then followed by a gentle but powerful introduction to hypnosis with positive suggestions to re-programme the sub-conscious helping to eradicate those old smoking triggers and habits. In the next few days the suggestions have time to "soak in" preparing your mind for the second "Power Session"

2nd Session

The second session really gets to the core of the smoking habit, neutralising your relationship with smoking. It empowers you to move ahead and develop new ways to enjoy life and truly relax without the burden that smoking has placed on you.

The second session also allows you to really let go and enjoy not only becoming smoke free but to deeply relax, creating a perfect new beginning for your new smoke-free life. It also allows you to address any issues around smoking that have surfaced after the first session.

You've had enough of that horrible habit but ask yourself...do you really want to stop?

No apologies for that question. The therapists job is to help you quit the smoking habit for good but you must have made that commitment mentally before coming to a session. The best hypnosis session in the world will not make you a non-smoker without commitment, so ask yourself...

Are you ready to make that commitment?

Have you decided that it is time to reap some of the benefits of being a non-smoker? Benefits such as ...

> Adding some valuable healthy time to your life

> Feeling healthier, fitter, and more attractive to non-smokers

> Less facial wrinkles and premature ageing of your skin

> Able to spend the considerable savings on something worthwhile

> Lowering your chance of having a heart attack, stroke, or cancer

> Improving your chances of having a healthy baby

> Protecting the health of the people you love, live and work with

Ready?

If you are ready you can be assured that the stop smoking programme is the most natural, drug free, pleasant way to stop. As a bonus you will experience a boost to your self-confidence, overall well-being, and best of all...

You take back control of your life!

"It's not too late"

Even if you have been smoking for years the body is a wonderful system, it begins to heal itself almost immediately after your last cigarette. For the average smoker the healing process over the first few months is quite remarkable.
